Dr. Robert Gerlach
Robert has a long-standing interest in the intersection of technology and sustainability and started developing tailored design-methods for sustainable innovation in 2013 with the consulting company mm1. He has over 15 years of experience in startups, management consulting, engineering R&D and academia.
Robert developed several patented and consumer-centric products, working in a wide range of industries including automotive, telecommunications, insurance, healthcare, aerospace and manufacturing. He worked for or with numerous large international cooperations, such as Allianz, Rolls-Royce, Airbus, BMW, Volkswagen, BOSCH, Continental, Deutsche Telekom as well as several Berlin-based startups.
Robert previously obtained a PhD from the University of Oxford in engineering science. He currently lives in Berlin and is the founder and CEO of Klim. He also teaches Sustainable Product- and Business Model Innovation at Steinbeis University Berlin, the ESCP Europe and the TU-Berlin.
